What vaccines are covered?

Vaccines are critical to your overall health, and with a Covenant Advantage (HMO-POS) and University of Michigan Health Advantage Flex (PPO) plan, many are available to you at no additional cost.

Vaccines fall into two categories, Part B and Part D and where you choose to get these vaccines matters.

Covered part B vaccines are covered by your medical benefits, and include essential vaccinations such as Flu, Pneumonia, Hepatitis B, and COVID-19 vaccines. Part B covered vaccines are $0 in a physician's office or pharmacy.

Covered part D vaccines are covered by your prescription benefits and include shingles, tetanus, and travel vaccines. Part D vaccines are $0 if administered at a pharmacy. They can also be administered in a physician’s office but there will be an administration charge that can be reimbursed by the plan.
